Jordan Ashman!

Jordan is an 18 year old percussionist from Cambridgeshire. He began playing the drums at seven years old, then started learning other percussion instruments. He performed a Percussion Concerto by Jennifer Hidgdon on the drums, marimba, vibraphone and even a car's brake drum!

Jordan used his initiative and his dad's engineering skills to build his own Xylophone when the family couldn't afford one in the early stages of his learning.

What about the others?

Sasha Canter, 18, represented the brass category on the trumpet. He's from Oxfordshire and played Alexander Arutunian's Trumpet Concerto. He is studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Sofía Patterson-Gutiérrez is 17 and plays the flute. She's from Stockport and played Jaques Ibert's Flute Concerto. She studies at Chetham's School of Music in Manchester, a specialist music school for children aged 8-18.

Jaren Ziegler is a 17 year old viola player from London and played William Walton's Viola Concerto. He's studied at the Junior Royal Academy of Music since he was 8 years old.

Ethan Loch, a 17 year old pianist from Glasgow played Chopin's Pino Concerto in F minor. Ethan was born blind and learns pieces by listening to them! He studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Each musician created incredible performances, wowing the judges with their ability to capture the feeling and complexities of each piece. Well done to every finalist, and the winner Jordan!
